Trimteck Optimux Control Valves
OpGL™ Globe Control Valve
Trimteck Optimux OpGL globe control valves have been engineered to provide superior performance while at the same time allowing for easy, fast, and inexpensive maintenance. The piston cylinder-actuated OpGL provides greater stiffness and maintains high positioning accuracy when compared to diaphragm operated control valves – making for an efficient and accurately responsive valve. Standards and approvals include ANSI/ISA, NACE, ASME, CRN, and PED.
Learn more:
Precise control via a top-guided, unbalanced, single-piece plug with flow characterization built in to the geometry of the plug head.
Exceptional shutoff capability with standard ANSI Class V metal-to-metal shutoff in process achieved with unique plug and seat ring design.
High thrust piston actuator that is more accurate and quicker than diaphragm actuators, and offers a smaller and lighter footprint – ideal for skid-mounted process equipment.
Top-entry design makes the OpGL easy to maintain, even though the valve has a much longer mean time between service (MTBS) cycle than competing diaphragm-actuated valves.
A single valve can accommodate a broad range of trim configurations from micro-flows to full capacity, severe service trims, and everything in between can be selected for the OpGL control valve.
The OpGL is available in fabricated, angle body, and 3-way variations and can be custom engineered for the most critical severe service applications.
Severe and special service options include:
Single and multi-stage anti-cavitation trims
Noise abatement trims and downstream devices
Guard Master zero fugitive emissions metal bellows seal
Venturi seat for flashing service
CVD-5B metal hardening, other common hardening processes are also available
Features and benefits:

Features and benefits:
OpDX™ High Performance Butterfly Valve
The OpDX High Performance Butterfly Control Valve uses a pressure-assisted seating concept to achieve bi-directional bubble-tight shutoff while maintaining a low breakout torque requirement. Available in ANSI Class 150 to 600 and 2” to 36”, the OpDX has a low breakout torque and a characterized disc enabling high performance throttling. Standards and approvals include ANSI/ISA, NACE, ASME, and CRN.
Learn more:
ANSI Class IV shutoff available with metal seat and bubble tight shutoff according to ANSI Class VI available with soft seat.
Eccentric disc lifts off of the seat to prevent wear and accurate throttling is achieved with modified parabolic geometry machined into the seat.
Rugged and lightweight flangeless wafer body. MSS SP-67 face-to-face permits shorter flange bolting than ball or eccentric plug valves, increasing safety and reducing possibility of leakage.
Single pivot point splined shaft reduces motion loss while the separable disk and shaft design reduces the cost of spare parts.

Severe Service
An interesting industry statistic is that in any given plant, 15% of valves are accountable for 85% of valve problems. This statistic highlights the significance of selecting the right valve for severe service applications, as using the incorrect valve can lead to expensive failures and unplanned downtime. Our control valve experts understand the nuance and unique control challenges faced by the process industries in Western Canada and that there is no one-size-fits-all solution for difficult control valve applications.
By working closely with Trimteck’s engineers, Marathon Process Controls aims to provide our customers with timely and cost-effective custom engineered solutions for their most critical applications. Actuators
OpTK™ Linear Piston-Cylinder Actuator
The OpTK Linear piston-cylinder actuator is a powerful fail-safe (spring return), high-performance pneumatic actuator that provides positive throttling or on-off operation for automatic control valves. The fail position of this actuator is fully field reversible for air-to-open or air-to-close action without additional parts.
Learn more:
High thrust – 150 psi (10.3 Bar) operating pressure allows substantially higher thrust than comparable diaphragm actuators, which provides tighter valve shutoff.
Quick response – double-acting configuration responds quickly to signal changes.
Low profile - substantially lighter and more compact than comparable linear diaphragm actuators, for a smaller overall valve footprint and easier installation and maintenance.
Dynamic positioning – supply pressure is sent to both sides of the piston for stiff, precise operation. Air volume between the piston and the bottom of the cylinder provides powerful pneumatic stiffness that can handle your most critical applications.
Fail-safe spring – internal spring provides fail-safe operation in the event of air system failure. Universal spring bench set is not required and the failure mode is field reversible with no additional parts.
Stiff operation – supply pressure is sent to both sides of piston for stiff and precise actuator operation without hunting hysteresis.
Low air consumption – cylinder design uses less supply air than comparable diaphragm actuators reducing emissions and improving ESG performance.
Features and benefits:
The OpTK Rotary piston-cylinder fail-safe (spring return) actuator combines high torque and pneumatic stiffness with excellent throttling capabilities in a lightweight, rugged, and compact assembly. The actuator uses a rocking piston for direct conversion of linear motion to rotary motion – thrust to torque. The rocking piston assembly combined with a splined shaft and lever eliminates lost motion giving the OpTK extraordinary precision and resolution.
